A high-altitude view reveals sweeping, abstract patterns formed by salt evaporation ponds north of San Francisco. Curving channels divide shallow pools of muted blue, gray, and pale green, creating a rhythmic landscape. Thin levees trace looping shapes across the flats, while faint power lines cut diagonally through the frame, adding scale and subtle geometry. Photographed in 1960, the image transforms an industrial salt landscape into a study of pattern, texture, and aerial perspective.
