Photographed in Leningrad in 1974, this image documents a hydrofoil ferry operating on the Neva River as part of the route between central Leningrad and Peterhof Palace. The vessel’s glass-enclosed passenger cabin and raised hull on hydrofoils are clearly visible as it moves at speed across the water. Formal river embankments and mid-century city buildings line the background under an overcast sky.
